Greetings ! The third Thread Candy Studio book is out! As we head into 2012 you'll see all sorts of different items in the books.

We've had numerous requests for more felt and felt/stitch combo projects. Enough that our Felt Candy section will become its' own publication and pattern line!

We've also had lots of requests for more charted designs (for needlepoint and cross stitch/counted thread use)--therefore, we'll be adding more charts. Counted thread stitchers are stepping out beyond the cross stitch and I constantly get design requests, so, it only makes sense...

As our first book series moves forward you'll see surprises in the current series springboarding into the next series. We'll keep you posted. 

Book 3 has a simplicity thread running throughout, with a touch of summer, holiday, self-finish, kid's, stitch guides and a nifty new section named the "Stitch Book".

The Stitch Book: TCS works with a needlework shop and their exclusive club, gives you an up close look all while creating a Stitch Book with it!  For example, instead of the standard black and white stich diagram book, we'll pull one stitch and/or effect from each design, highlight it, (full color) plus the stitch diagram will coordinate with it.

If you choose to trim out this section each book, put it in a notebook or spiral bind together a years' worth you'll end up with a full color stitch diagram book.  First up (in book 3) Pocket Full of Stitches Tag You're it! You'll want to join this club...

By using shop exclusive clubs (when possible) in this section, we can strengthen the industry awareness too.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported TCS.  We are constantly in awe of the amount of stitchers out there and their kind words.  Their are so many stitchers beyond what I ever imagined. To meet our international customers needs we are working on digital versions as Apps and other formats.  Our newsletter and web site will have notices when they are available.

Our new purse/travel sized books will begin shipping December 5! The Stitch Journals are filled with pages to record project diary information as well as works in progress, threads, stitch guides, stitches, and more. Our next "Master Series" Thread Candy Studio book releases after the first of the year. It includes an array of subject matter from Nativity/Chistmas, advent, candy, Spring, and articles. We also have a How to "Finish" section (ongoing), as we have had numerous requests for this.

Oh, all our designs will have charts and lined drawings so  whether you needlepoint, cross stitch,  use painted canvas or  embroider you can create them.

Submissions clarification and ideas

 

Good day!  I've received some submissions noting they are for the Fall issue that comes out in a few weeks.  All submissions are for next years' issues.  I will post here and send a formal deadline list  to  subscribers for each issue which will include themes or colours, but not until I have enough to creae a decent sized category.

So, for now, all submissions of any colour or theme or type of use of ThreadworX threads in the project are being accepted.     

Think out of the box for submitting your work. --Not just a "finished" project, but, maybe a study of threads, color, a work in progress and why you used the thread... free form, a paper project with floss, a friendship bracelet your daughter made...

Every month I will send a reminder for submissions due dates.    Don't be shy, your work is creative and inspiring. 

After being a Creative Director for many years and working with young children + doing needlework since I can remember-- it has resonated over and over that we all are "creative".  What's the most important is expressing our inspiration, creativity or idea.  The process or journey.  Predetermined rules in any facet of the arts often shut people down before they give themselves a chance.  Don't let that happen.  After all all houses are not drawn as a square with a triangle roof now are they?

SUBMISSION REQUESTS + Fall • Holiday issue

 

Our Fall • Holiday issue releases The first week in October.  As the Fall issue began to evolve, we incorporated a few new twists and beginning with the first issue of 2011 you will have lots of surprises.  

One I will let you know now:  Additional coverage of embroidery such as stumpwork, hand quilting, dimensional pieces and counted...

•Beginning in 2011, we will also have a Gallery section with submissions of YOUR stitched pieces using ThreadworX  fiber/threads.

Please send your photographs of your pieces with ThreadworX threads incorporated in it.  Specs are noted below.  

The entire piece does not have to be stitched with ThreadworX, just any portion of the design.  If we publish your design, you will receive a Thread Pax filled with different threads from our product lines. Hopefully, we will receive enough submissions to give y'all lots of "eye candy" in one place.

•Every week we get quite a few requests for a subscription print version of the ThreadworX Journal.  We want  you to know it is something we are considering.  As always pricing comes into play.  We currently offer a printed, spiral bound copy for the cost of printing and postage.  The price varies on number of pages.

The Yellow Issue releases this week!

Our summer issue is releasing this week.  We will post here, the moment it's sent to your in box.

We hope you enjoy your summer issue of the ThreadworX Journal. It's a fun one, with a few surprises too!

Oh, one more thing.  Because our birds are designed for counted work whether on canvas or fabric, we will not have a separate issue of the Journal for cross stitch.  

The standard  pattern charts and color code are included in each issue.  We suggest (for cross stitch) stitching all the birds on a larger count  22 , 20, 18 over two natural linen or  10, 7 count aida in order to use the thread sizes we have chosen for the design.

ThreadworX Journal availability clarification + new product

 

We have updated the availability options of the ThreadworX Journal. 

1.  As a subscriber you receive the full issue with special project included. (bird series for 2010)

2. Non subscribers may download each issue without the project included one 

month after the issue releases.

The archives are always available in this format at www.threadworx.com/journal   

Subscribers will be notified as soon as each new issue is available.  

Summer issue release in June

  Our Summer Issue will arrive in your mailbox in June.  Until then we will send you an update or two. (small one page news).

We have had numerous emails regarding what the next bird will be.   A Toucan!  Colorful, tropical and perfect for summer!

The Spring issue is now available

 

The spring issue is now available by subscription. The archived issues are also available for download. (see left column for links). Please note that all archived issues do not include our bird series designs . 

They are only included with the subscription. A couple notes: 

*You may order a hard copy of the ThreadworX Journal for 10-12.00 (depending on issue size) plus shipping. This cover the cost of the actual printing and binding (spiral bound). 

*Our stitch guides our written in a format so the stitcher may stitch the design in any "order" (it is suggested to stitch the finishing touches last, of course. 

*The App Review this issue is also available as an online program, so those who choose not to have a Smart phone can still use it on their computer. Although this is mentioned in the column, we did not put a large emphasis on the online availability, so I wanted to mention it here.
